I made my debut on Radio 3 at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation. The show aired on a Sunday evening competing with Dallas on the local TV station. I remember being told that my listenership would be rather limited as the country used to come to a grinding halt, with viewers glued to their TV sets. I was pleasantly surprised that I got a good following. I am very passionate about being able to play good rock music In May 2016 I joined LM Radio where I presented the Early Breakfast Show on a Friday and also two more shows, on Saturday morning and early evening. I left LM Radio in March 2017.
I had a life of travel , twenty five years in aviation from bush flying to corporate to airline where I retired as a Captain. Then twenty five years as a tour operator and national guide on wildlife safaris around Southern Africa . Saw Southern Africa from the skies and then on the ground . Now happily retired on the East Coast with my Companion Mr Comet .

During the warmer months, we all look for some delicious salad ideas. South Africans just love potatoes and everyone has their favourite way of preparing the ever-popular potato salad. Heleen Meyer, however is not a huge fan of mayonnaise-based dressings and says everyone should try this quick and easy combination of sour cream and fresh dill. This flavour duo is perfect with potatoes and can be whipped up in a flash. Get creative! Yes, we hear you ... you may […]
The woman who turned a family recipe into one of South Africa’s most legendary brands. By Seth Thorne When Elizabeth Anne Greyvensteyn first started selling rusks to her local community in a small town in the North-Eastern Cape over eighty years ago, little did she know that her humble business would grow to become one of South Africa’s most iconic brands—Ouma Rusks. Rusks have been a beloved South African snack for centuries, long before the Ouma brand became iconic. Dried bread, […]
