The Franschhoek Literary Festival is upon us again, and its Programme Director, Jennifer Ball, chats to me about the exciting line-up of authors and activities. Deon Meyer and Mike Nicol, SA’s internationally famous crime writers, will be there for the weekend of 16 to 18 May.

International authors include John Boyne (Boy in the Striped Pyjamas fame); historical fiction fundi, Kate Mosse, (Labyrinth; The Map of Bones) and Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu (The Creation of Half-Broken People; The Quality of Mercy) are flying out to join and rivet us.

There are book writing workshops; poetry (Antjie Krog and Ingrid de Wet); food authors; as well as gorgeous wines, coffee bars and scrumptious restaurants.

I chatted about Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s new book, Dream Counts; Khaya Dlanga’s , Life is like that Sometimes; and All Sorts of Junk Food made Healthy by Chantal Lascaris.

See you at FLF.
