closeIn South Africa we love a bean salad, whether it’s a side dish at a braai or just a go-to for any other meal. This recipe by Heleen Meyer, is no ordinary bean salad. It has all the well-known flavours of a bean salad, but the homemade dressing makes it wholesome and extra good! Enjoy this as a vibrant side dish or have it as a light vegetarian meal. And […]

Today we’re speaking to Wesley Roodt, Chevening scholar, filmmaker and educator, whose debut novel, All the Saints, brings the gale-force gees of an Eastern Cape boys’ school to the page in a voice that is as funny as it is devastating. I made my debut on Radio 3 at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation. The show aired on a Sunday evening competing with Dallas on the local TV station. I remember being told that my listenership would be rather limited as the country used to come to a grinding halt, with viewers glued to their TV sets. I was pleasantly surprised that I got a good following. I am very passionate about being able to play good rock music In May 2016 I joined LM Radio where I presented the Early Breakfast Show on a Friday and also two more shows, on Saturday morning and early evening. I left LM Radio in March 2017.
I had a life of travel , twenty five years in aviation from bush flying to corporate to airline where I retired as a Captain. Then twenty five years as a tour operator and national guide on wildlife safaris around Southern Africa . Saw Southern Africa from the skies and then on the ground . Now happily retired on the East Coast with my Companion Mr Comet .
